Endeavour Hills Playground Sunset Oil Painting

A Spectacular Sunset as seen through my eyes.

This is based on a walk I did through one of the Endeavour Hills playgrounds at sunset. I was taken back by the almost surreal abstract that lay before me, what confronted me was the Straight Lines piercing the Sunset, and the dramatic sky that was so intense, It was for me a magical time for painting. I really got a kick from it. (I Finished this oil painting in my studio)

This painting is from the far side of the playground where the ground is on a steep slope.
It is an unusual angle and I believe it forms a rather dramatic backdrop to the even more amazing sunset that occurred this day.
I actually jumped in my car to drive up the hill to capture this sunset. (I live in a valley and don't get a good view of the sun rising or setting form my house)

As an Australian Artist, I believe that trying to capture a small snapshot of what our natural surroundings look like is important for future generations to look back in time at. I truly enjoyed painting this sunset, as the yellow is almost unbelievable when I first saw it.
